2013 Tessleymoor Gundog Training Event.

I want to thank everyone who helped with the organisation of the first Tessleymoor Gundog Club event for 2013. The event was arranged as a 2013 year end training event and was a huge success. Members travelled miles to attend the event and to be involved with the training and fun that was arranged for the morning.

I set up 6 training tasks from which each handler had to pick 3 for their dog to participate in. Points were awarded based on time trial as well as perfection of the given task. Whilst it was a competitive event, it remained fun and everyone really enjoyed it.

The overall winner on the day was Jenny and her Cocker Spaniel, Mollie. Second place was awarded to Amie with her GSP, Count and in third place was Sean with Max the Springer Spaniel. There was also an award for the most noticeable dog, which went to Bell, the 5 month old Labrador. Bell did really well on all tasks and certainly stood her ground against older, bigger and more experienced dogs throughout the day.

A special thank you went to Sheila aka ‘Jester’ who dressed up as a jester and trained in her outfit whilst joining in with the required tasks. For those of you who know Sheila, you will be aware that she is a little clumsy, often falling over during training sessions and therefore living up to her name, providing an element of fun on the day.
