The Glorious Twelfth

As a local gundog trainer, it’s always good to be recognised in your locality for your expertise. Regional monthly magazine Live Ribble Valley approached me as a gundog training expert to write a feature on The Glorious Twelfth here on the grouse shooting estates in Lancashire. I have trained many dogs to work on these heather moorlands and this was a great opportunity to share this experience with the readers of the magazine.

Gundogs play a vital role in the grouse shooting season, in fact it is true to say that without the dogs there would be no shoot. This great hunting experience is only possible due to the careful conservation of the grouse moors by skilled estate managers. To capture the beauty of this landscape and the dogs in their natural working environment, I sourced some stunning photographs from Tom Hartley.

The Glorious Twelfth article is the cover story for the August publication of Live Ribble Valley. You can read it here or pick up a copy from many outlets throughout Lancashire.
