The importance of homework

If you’re looking for success in your dog training, it’s very important that you do your dog training homework. Poppy’s owner, 13 year old Amber, hadn’t been doing her homework and this reflected in their last lesson. Owning a Springer Spaniel puppy is always going to be challenging. When you don’t keep on top of your puppy training, you have no chance of success. After a serious telling off, Amber knuckled down and trained everyday, even if it was only a ten minute session. The work she’s done over the last few weeks was reflected in their lesson today. Poppy’s focus on Amber was brilliant, their basic commands were near perfect. Previously Poppy wouldn’t retrieve the dummy and delivery it to Amber but today, despite a few puppy plays, she did some perfect deliveries to hand.

It’s so important that you do your dog training homework between lesson. This is how you make progress and achieve the results you are seeking. Whilst I can train you and guide you during the lesson time it’s only you who can show commitment to your training at home.
