Virtual Working Dog Training
What do you do when you can’t see your dog trainer? How do you handle your new puppy or continue to train your young dog? Can your dog improve when you have no access to your training area? For all kinds of reasons, dog training can’t stop because we can’t get out and about. A dog that is used to being trained every day needs physical and mental stimulation to prevent distress and disruptive behaviour. If you are frustrated with not being out in the field, what you need is virtual working dog training.
Would virtual working dog training work for me?
If you are in the process of training your dog in any way, not being able to get to the training ground doesn’t mean that training should stop. Virtual working dog training works really well for:
- Recall, stop & steadiness
- Building a bond with your dog
- Retrieve & deliverance
- Hold technique
- Whistle commands
- New puppies
- As a top-up between 1-2-1 lessons
To keep you focused, I will set tasks to work on between your virtual lessons. I can demonstrate commands and desired behaviours with my dogs for you to watch and try. You can also show me what your dog is up to – the good and the not so good – so we can work on specific areas. If you have a problem area you want to work on before the shooting season, we can focus on that. I can adapt my Tessleymoor Way training methods for use in your garden, on your walk, even in the house.
As you will know if you have ever trained with me, I like to keep my lessons fun and interactive. Virtual dog training lessons are no exception. If you have the kids at home, why not get them involved too with filming their dog and trying out new commands? This can be a great learning opportunity for everyone in the household.
