Gundog Virtual Lessons As Good As 1-2-1 For Dodger The GWP

Dodger is ten months old and is the sort of dog who would have really benefited from 1-2-1 lessons from being a young pup. Of course, this year, that wasn’t an option. The owners live in Scone in Scotland and found me on Instagram. Since the summer, David and Kirsti have been training with me via gundog virtual lessons, which I have blogged about. What they have achieved at a distance is amazing.

Due to my many years of experience, I can create gundog virtual lessons that are as good as having a 1-2-1 in the the field. I can read the body language of the owner and the dog and find ways for them to work effectively together. This week with Dodger we were working on the stop whistle. This is challenge with an over-enthusiastic German Wirehaired Pointer but we achieved some amazing stops.

I then incorporated blind retrieves with the stop whistle and directional commands, all with great success. David and Kirsti have worked so hard and are now seeing the results. I’m looking forward to meeting them in a few weeks time when they travel to England for a 1-2-1 lesson.
