Dog Training Works Like Magic For Merlin

When I first met Merlin, he was a nightmare. There’s a line of thinking that a black and white Springer has some Collie in it that makes them wild. I’d certainly say this is the case with Merlin. He would run off, be defiant, bite, scratch and maul, anything he could do to dominate his owner, he would.

Six months of lessons and he is a different dog. He sits, is steady, can handle multi-directional retrieves and delivers to hand. It’s never all plain saying when training a dog but when the owner has felt negative, I’ve kept things positive. We’ve changed him onto a raw diet and this has also helped to improve his behaviour. Hard work and perseverance have paid off.

If you new the Merlin that first came to training, you would think I was some kind of magician…maybe I am…
