What a great achievement for Jackie and Monty the Jack Russell
I
It’s great to work with clients who, when they realise they have a problem with their dog, will work hard at changing things. Jackie was not enjoying her young Jack Russell. At just a year old, this is a typical example of a pandemic puppy. The dog had been allowed far too much freedom with too few boundaries. While Jackie was working from home, Monty was with her all the time. This resulted in separation anxiety every time she left the house. This became so severe that Jackie could go nowhere without Monty, not even upstairs.
After a couple of virtual lessons introducing The Tessleymoor Way, it was a pleasure to meet Jackie and Monty in person. On this first practical lesson, we worked on establishing a good heel. I also used my dogs to overcome his reactivity to other dogs.
After consulting other dog trainers and making no progress, Jackie is now able to enjoy her dog. She will be continuing with practical lessons but outstanding progress has already been made.
