Gundog Training with Teddy the Cockapoo

If you believe in what you’ve achieved then you can achieve so much more. This is the situation with Teddy the Cockapoo and Nancy in their training journey.

Teddy and Nancy started training with me three months ago. At the time Teddy was making her life miserable with his behaviour which was uncontrollable and ruling Nancy’s life. He pulled on the lead, ran off, jumped up and was totally ignorant to commands. Much of his behaviour emanated from being over loved and allowed to get away with things because he’s a cute Cockapoo.

Since meeting them both, through dedication, commitment and fun, they’ve achieved amazing results with my guidance. Yesterday’s lesson was one of the best we’ve had. Teddy was 100% focused on Nancy, his retrieves were perfect delivering to hand every time, something many shooting people would be envious of. Not only did he work all lesson off lead he did it without showing any interest in my dog who was also off lead. We have to look back at where we started and how far we’ve travelled. Three months ago Teddy ran off, would have jumped all over my dog and wasn’t listening. Following the Tessleymoor Way training philosophy Nancy and Ted have achieved so much.

I’m looking forward to our next lesson. We will be progressing to direction retrieves and much more, which will only strengthen their bond.
