Dog Training with a German Shepherd Puppy

I wrote about Maggie the German Shepherd puppy back in June after helping my friend find and purchase a breed pedigree pup.

Maggie is now 20 weeks and becoming an amazing girl. Following my Tessleymoor Way training programme it shows what can be achieved. Instilling good solid foundations with puppy training is so important.

Over the last few weeks I’ve seen more and more enquiries from new dog owners that haven’t spent enough time researching the breed of dog/puppies they are buying. Not only is the choice of breed important but you need to consider your lifestyle and if at all a dog will suit you and your family life.

I see more news of people leaving dogs with rescue centres and not being able to look after them. The financial crisis is also a contributing factor together with the aftermath of the Covid puppy boom.

Having a dog is not easy, so if you’ve committed to training and your are patient, results will be achieved. Owning a dog costs but it doesn’t have to cost the earth; work out a budget to spend on your dog and you will be able to achieve it.
