Update on Dexter the Dogue De Bordeaux

Remember Dexter, the cute little Dogue De Bordeaux puppy? Well, he’s grown a lot since I first met him in June. At our last lesson I was very firm with his owners. They needed to clamp down on some of the freedoms they have been given him because over-loving is having a negative affect on his behaviour.

In today’s lesson I saw a transformation; it’s the best lesson we’ve had. Dexter’s behaviour has been reined in. He is throughly enjoying his retrieval work, which is mentally and physically stimulating him. His owners have just enjoyed a week away with him, with his behaviour reflecting their investment in his training. I look forward to continuing to part of Dexter’s journey in the weeks to come.
