Eden the Labrador enjoying life Training as a Gundog

Eden the Labrador is certainly full of character and drive, in fact she’s my type of dog. When I first met Eden with Geoff, the main issues were steadiness and recall, whether it’s with a retrieve or not. Being a fishing and shooting man and striving for perfection the situation was becoming frustrating as he wanted Eden training as a gundog.

Today’s lesson was their third and it certainly showed with the improvements that have been made. A common problem people have with retrieves is poor delivery and dropping short, both of these Geoff had experienced. By observing Geoff’s body language when Eden was delivering I was able to get 100% delivery to hand with a hold at the end. Geoff was very happy.

Reading books, watching videos and taking advise from mates is ok, but nothing replaces a professional trainer who can individually assess you and your dog to achieve great results.
