Farm24 – Tessleymoor Farm

It’s great to be part of Farm24 this year. This is an initiative set up by The Farmers Guardian to show the public the passion and commitment it takes to produce the food we eat.

I’m just over a year into my farming life. In that time I’ve learnt to have an even greater appreciation of all that farmers do. When I set out with the Tessleymoor Farm, my values were to create a sustainable environment to produce good food to sell locally. This involves taking the very best care of my livestock, something that is time consuming and can be challenging. However, despite the inevitable ups and downs, I have had an amazing year as a first time farmer.

Search #Farm24 on whichever social media you use and you will see lots of examples of farmers doing just the same thing. They are taking care of the environment, raising their livestock and providing food for this country to eat. Take a look at my Instagram to see what I get up to in a day on the farm. If you get a chance, visit a local farm and find out more about where your food comes from. Some of it may be at a premium price but I guarantee you will be able to taste the difference.
