A week to go until 2023 lambing commences
It’s that time of year again in the farming calendar.
A week today on the 2nd April I commence my second lambing season of my farming journey. It’s only twenty months since I started farming as a first generation farmer at the age of fifty. Having no experience, no equipment and no farm I jumped in with both feet. I now farm sheep, goats and pigs on a 64 acre farm. Last year was my first experience of lambing and thankfully it went quite smoothly.
This year I am again lambing outside with a 178% scanning result expected. Fingers crossed I’m hoping for a smooth operation. Unfortunately I’ve experienced some wet conditions and many of my fields are boggy so I will need to be extra vigilant as sheep aren’t always the cleverest and can lamb anywhere, even in puddles.
I will be updating my blog with news of lambing whilst producing YouTube views on my channel Tessleymoor Farming
