Tessleymoor Farm – The Story So Far
Welcome to my new Tessleymoor Farm blog where I will be exclusively sharing updates from life on the farm. I will of course continue to blog on my dog training page and you can find blogs about the early days on the farm there too. However, there is so much going on at the farm now, it needs a separate blog for those of you who are following the farm’s progress. So bookmark the page – all new posts will also be featured on my Instagram stories so you will know when an update is out.
How it all started
The Tessleymoor Farm has been a dream of mine for a long time but started to become a reality back in March 2021. My first livestock arrived in May and I haven’t looked back since. I have now sheep, pigs, turkeys and goats – with more to come. The aim is simple – to create a sustainable farm where livestock can be raised in the best conditions possible, which in turn will lead to premium meat products.
Working with Skye
Working alongside me is Skye, my young Border Collie. She is a sheep dog in training and I will be giving updates on her progress on this blog too. In the very near future, I will be moving all my dog training lessons to the farm. This will provide enhanced facilities to my clients while enjoying the same high standards of dog training.
The land and buildings I am using were not in the best of conditions when I arrived. I am gradually working through each area, making sure my livestock have the best environment to live in. It’s a team effort with my extremely handy colleague to clean, renovate and repair the buildings, fences and gates. In addition to this, I have installed a state of the art security system to ensure the wellbeing of my livestock.
What’s happening today?
So it’s the beginning of a new month and winter is well on it’s way. After dreadful weather this weekend, we’ve had a break in the clouds and I’ve been able to move my shearlings and tups onto fresh grazing. Keep following the Tessleymoor Farm blog to see how all the livestock are progressing as the Farm grows and grows.
