11 year old Amelia a star at her first gundog training lesson

It was an absolute pleasure to meet Milo the Cocker Spaniel with Amelia and her dad Mark for their first gundog training lesson. Amelia had asked her dad on the day if it’d be ok if she came along to the training lesson. I  think it’s really important to encourage our younger generation to be involved in the training. Being young they tend to see a new dog as a play thing which in turn creates problems with the dog’s behaviour towards them, such as biting, jumping and ignoring commands given.

Tonight’s lesson was a huge success and as you can probably see from the picture, Amelia thoroughly enjoyed every minute, especially as she was better then dad. It also highlighted how much Milo dominate and dictates to Mark. A lot was achieved during their first lesson but as Milo is young and they are keen to have any mistakes corrected and then build a good solid foundation of training, Mark decided that a residential training programme at my training kennels would benefit the while family.

I’m looking forward to training with Milo in the near future.
