Pre/Post Puppy Training Package
It appears the whole world has a new puppy at the moment. Lockdown or not, these puppies need training and in response, I have created a pre/post puppy training package. This can be a combination of virtual and one-to-one lessons, taken over the crucial first weeks of your puppy’s time with you. Most importantly, I have introduced pre-puppy training. This covers essential information so that you are completely ready for your puppy and can start as you mean to go on.
Pre-Puppy Training
In this pre-puppy training lesson I cover:
- nutrition – what to feed your dog, how often and mealtime etiquette
- crate training – how the crate is the secret to a contented puppy
- household integration – settling your puppy into your routines and introducing to other household members
- toileting – drama-free toilet training
- dominance – how to establish a pack order with your pup
Many people ask when they should start training their puppy. This pre/post puppy training package shows the importance or establishing structure from day one. Puppies are like sponges at this age, each of our human days is the equivalent to seven days of a puppy’s life. Their absorption rate is phenomenal. Get this right and every aspect of your dog training will be so much easier. Here’s what a client who has already used this service has to say:
With my first dog, I didn’t really bother with training until they were 12 weeks old and going out on short walks. By then, she was already doing her own thing in the house and garden and taking little notice of me. With my second dog, the same breed, I spoke to Damian extensively before I brought her home. He was very clear on crate training, which I had only used sporadically before. Other essentials like toileting, interacting with other family members and integrating with the older dog were covered too. As a result, I had an incredibly content and compliant puppy. As time has gone on, she has kept to the structure and routine she learnt at this very early stage. Now an adult dog, she is content because she has a clear structure and knows her place in the household. This is absolutely all down to Damian’s pre-puppy training.
