Retrieve Problems with a Korthal Griffon.

Scouts training has been progressing well until we hit a brick wall with her retrieves on our last lesson. Despite all our efforts Scout would run out to the dummy, sniff and walk away. Today we had huge success with her delivery to hand. How did we do it? Simply by having a huge selection of retrieve articles of different sizes, textures and shapes. By process of elimination we established that she preferred fur dummies over anything else. Also by working Scout with Pepper my Springer Spaniel it created a competitive drive to retrieve dummies faster to hand.

Over the coming weeks Nick will be working on Scouts enthusiasm to encourage a greater desire to work.
