Patience is the key to success

No matter how headstrong you think your dog is, anything can be achieved with work and patience. Loui the Sprocker is certainly a character and throughout his training he’s pushed Mathew to the limit. This hasn’t been easy for him and has resulted in him feeling stressed and frustrated when training his dog. Teaching Mathew that calmness leads to reward has helped to build a good working relationship. Loui is not going to work as a gundog but he still needs to learn good heel work, recall and focus.

I’ve used my structured and systematic teaching method, the Tessleymoor Way, to help Matthew and Loui. By working on retrieving, I have shown Matthew how to bring structure to his training. In this way he will achieve so much more and create a great bond with his dog.
