Swaledales Join The Tessleymoor Flock

It’s great to have another breed of sheep joining the Tessleymoor flock. Swaledales are a hardy breed, known to be good mothers and to be able to live and lamb outside. The official symbol of the Yorkshire Dale, I had to cross the border from Lancashire to collect them this week.

Next on my shepherding list is shearing, which will take place later this week. It’s a legal requirement in the UK to shear your sheep and is definitely best for their welfare, keeping their cool and clean throughout the summer.
