Training A German Shepherd The Tessleymoor Way

Gundog training is an advanced level of training that can be used with any dog. Training a German Shepherd is no exception, as demonstrated by Mabel. Being a working breed it’s important that she’s stimulated mentally and physically to ensure she’s focused on her owner. When training any dog I work on a basic philosophy of bond, basics and advance. This is the foundation of training the Tessleymoor Way. Build a bond, don’t bribe or buy it. Ensure you have basic commands in place then move to advanced training, which can be anything you wish to do with your dog.

Being a large breed that does look intimidating, Mabel’s owner is nervous of what her dog might do if not trained correctly. Unfortunately Mabel was attacked as a puppy so it’s increased Sarah’s anxiety when walking her. However, her training is progressing well. German Shepherds are one of my favourite breeds and I’m seeing more and more of these amazing dogs visiting me for training.
